Well after seeing those screen shots that our members have put up i think it's time to start temp banning people when they swear tons and such. We have had our server long enough and they know the rules. I hope all of Elite will agree to this but don't you guys think its time to put a end to all this juvenile behavior? Because I'm going to tell you that i don't even feel like logging on to the server much because of the character bashing and the swearing that goes on. Maybe I'll need to be big bad ebola again and just temp ban anyone that makes me mad. Anyways thats my piece and i will leave to that. Feed back is greatly appreciated more so from elite members tho. thanks and have fun .

hmmm, maybe setting the length of a tempban to oh, say 5 minutes in the penalty box? so they can enjoy finding an open slot on the server, yet it isn't too harsh of a penalty.

if you make an example of a few people who completely abuse it, then im sure people would find more of an... incentive to be obedient. accidents happen though, things slip out now and then. im not a member, but i think you should be more concerned with how the people that arent in your clan like your server. your clan has to like it, and deal with it, they will play there no matter what. its getting the other people to play there that matters. people will only play where their friends play. if their friends get banned, they have no reason to play there.

ya things slip... HOWEVER there are several ppl who know the rules, are reminded of the rules, and are kicked daily, but still don't get the point. Possibly a time out (temp ban) or we could do a three warning (first time offenders) then kick, after that temp ban, after that ban.
The issue isn't necessarily when officers are around...it's when they're not. Which was rome's frustration from the start. Either we put out "warrents" for them to be filled by officers to temp ban, or we just ban period. Then we don't have to worry about the garbage coming back on when we're not around. -- Not as much of an example, but plainly getting rid of problems PERMANENTLY!

thats why having a successful server and clan is so very difficult, the admins have to walk a razor thin line between too much discipline and too little

i agree with your comments wright and molech. 1 thing that i believe is crucial to remember is to speak to everyone as if in a human sense, they are the same level as you. yes your an admin, and they arent, and if they cause problems consistantly, then obviously they need to be removed. but more often than not, i see admins and members of unreal addressing players as "kid" or "child" or things like that. people dont like getting talked to in a degrading fashion, especially when you really dont even know how old they are. half the time, when someone is called kid, even if its not by elite members, the subject is actually older than the one making the comment. dont just assume everyones a child, or a little kid, and dont talk down to them. if they act immature, respond to it appropriately. if you fire out degrading comments and insult them, you are worse than they are.

I agree with Masta on this....my motto is that i don't say something i wouldn't want said to me. So i don't talk down to someone. Unless I'm pushed into it.
However, this is about enforcing rules, right? Most of the ppl that you are having problems with are younger. No authority around, they are showing how cool they can be by saying as many racial slurs and swear words as possible. However, the rules are stated and popping up on the server every 15 seconds or so. They know the rules, they are just choosing to ignore them. I don't think a perm ban is the answer. Now if your temp ban is five days? And each time he does it he gets five days? I think that by the third offence, he just might get it in his/her head that it isn't worth it.
I do disagree with a five minute penalty, cus all that is doing is this: he has five minutes to sit and build up his anger and come back in and let it all out. Which will probably earn him a temp ban any way.
I have a suggestion, and you may or may not like it...Your server is a no swearing server at all. Maybe meet somewhere in the middle. Make it a no vulgar language server.....no saying f**k, or no cussing is allowed if it directed towards someone. Definately no racial slurs. But allowing them to say shit, damn or hell and maybe that will eliminate "some" of the problems.

everyone is right in their own respects. the good thing about this is that we're talking about it...getting to a resolution that we're happy with. all of our ideas have great purpose and philosophy behind them, but we HAVE to account not only their character, but attitude. Character is very hard to grasp....maybe impossible over phone lines. Attitude, however, is clear and evident.
There is a difference in ppl who ignore the rules - read missy above to uderstand reasons why. The fact is that there are different types of players out there...all with their own set of attitudes. Elite stands (sometimes fails) on treating ppl well, stating rules, helping them understand what we desire for them -- we desire for them to play honestly and cleanly so that more ppl can have fun. Ya know, the funny part is that if all the "problem people" actually caught our desire, we would all have a GREAT time on CoD. - However it's more important for them to fulfill their own selfish desires than it is for them to fulfill our self-less desires...which ultimately means their missing out.
For those who are on board - it's clear and evident. They mess up SURE WE ALL DO. (and there is a bigger reason for that than just "because") but anyway. So you pull "JimmyMessedUp" aside, take the time to explain rules and our desire...and they jump on board! THEN there are those who will not give up their own selfish desires for the benefit of the group.
We need to....(my thoughts...please respond) Take in effect Elite Clan Rules No.s 1, 2 & 9. This is not to pull power trips over other ppl (otherwise, we're being the same bullheaded-selfish-personal desire seeking attitude as the "problem ppl". I suggest we sit down together and talk actions over. On our TS with missy involved!

I would be up for that! For a collective conversation amongs the admins. The other thing that i was thinking that was brought up by Masta was being worried about ppl populating the servers. Our rules are not that "far fetched" that they are unbelievably unfair... and to ask that ppl who play on the server to follow them isn't that much to ask. If you give them THAT much power and they know it, you'll never get control over the situation. But you let me know when and where and i'll try to make my presence known! hehee <3

i agree with what you guys are trying to accomplish, and im just trying to help by presenting the complaints i have heard over and over and over on and off the server. the main of which is the admins talking down on the players when it isnt necessary. but i know you guys will be able to talk this over and arrive at a good solution, so good luck to yous :]
